Tomorrow class starts. I have to say this has been an amazing summer. I traveled to San Carlos, Bahia de los Angeles(The bay of angels), and other parts of Baja and I am at awe with it all, it is everything ever described in a book , and more. Seeing chubascos in Bahia de los Angeles(the sea of cortez side) is just as Peter Benchley described it, “unlike hurricanes and typhoons, they did not come from anywhere: They were created right there, and they lived and died right there”(10). Lighting strikes seen from a distance in the night, like silent fireworks . The biodiversity of the sea of cortez is what Jacques Cousteau called “the aquarium of the world”. The abundant sea life was inescapable, you would see the thousands of little land crabs meeting on shore, and hear fish jumping out of the water , being chased by bigger fish. My trip to San Carlos, on the pacific ocean side, was beautiful , waves were beautifully shaped, tidal pools were always filled with striped sea crabs , sea anemone and various species of tiny fish patrolling the edges of the ponds of water.
