Days to save the smallest dolphin!Only 55 Maui’s dolphins remain, and New Zealand will sign their death sentence unless it stops netting in its habitat. Together, we canpersuade the Prime Minister to save the dolphins.CLICK HERE TO SIGN THE PETITION!
I have far too many emotions when it comes to marine mammals. I teared up just looking at this picture, or it could just be the hormones.

Totally not the hormones.^ I got a bit of that too. Its a fascinating , intelligent  creature capable of understanding and love.

Two Years Later, BP’s Oil Still Wreaks Havoc Along the Gulf Coast

Two years ago today (friday), a Deepwater Horizon oil rig run by BP exploded in the Gulf of Mexico and released 200 million gallons of oil into the surrounding waters. The oil spill was detrimental to the surrounding ecosystem, economy and communities. The Institute for Southern Studies recently released Troubled Waters, a report on the aftermath of the oil spill and its consequences in the Gulf Coast.

DELAYED

San Diego Ocean Foundation :
On Tuesday, May 1st we’re getting a new batch of baby white seabass!
Are you free help us transport the fish from the truck to the pens? We need about 8 volunteers for each shift.
2 shifts needed:
11:00AM and at 3:00PM (times are approximate & ending times for each shift depend on how many volunteers show up and what time the truck arrives with the fish.)
LOCATION:
San Diego Bay Pens
(Corner of Grape Street & Harbor Blvd)
Park in the metered parking along Harbor Blvd
OUR NEW FISH:
This group is ready to graduate from their nursery in Carlsbad and move on to bigger and better things…San Diego Bay!  As a white seabass mentor, we’d love it if you could make it out to great them for the very first time!
At the welcoming party, you’ll be able to:
- Start your morning by helping unload about 15,000 fingerlings and transporting them into their new home.  We need as much help as we can get, as we’ll be unloading them bucket by bucket from the truck.
- Meet other WSB volunteers and sign up for feeding times (we will be filling AM, Mid and PM shifts daily).
We need as many volunteers as possible, so please let me know if you can help us! Feel free to bring a friend or two!!!
To RSVP, simply reply to this email.
Thanks,
John Valencia

Bliss n Eso feat: John Butler Trio - “The Sea is Rising”

“A new consciousness is developing which sees the earth as a single organism and recognizes that an organism at war with itself is doomed. We are one planet. One of the great revelations of the age of space exploration is the image of the earth finite and lonely, somehow vulnerable, bearing the entire human species through the oceans of space and time.”
― Carl Sagan
